CARDIOLOGY & CVTS

The kalsekar Hospital in kausa, Mumbra employs comprehensive, holistic approaches to heart health ranging from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, treatment, heart surgery and rehabilitation.

Cardiology is the specialised branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the cardiovascular systems. This field has various super-specializations in the branches of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart diseases and electrophysiological disorders. At KALSEKAR Hospital Cardiology Department the cardiac patients are taken care of by Doctors who are super-specialized and highly experienced. Hospital having well equipped Cathlab & MICU.

Our doctors are paired with expertly trained nurses, plus pharmacists and dieticians. We see over 800 – 100 cardiac cases a month, of which approximately 180 are non-invasive procedures such as echocardiograms. On top of this, we perform over 260 endovascular procedures monthly.

Cardiac Diagnostic Investigations

Over 15 different technologies are used to diagnose heart conditions, not including blood tests. Some examples are:

  • Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  • Echocardiography & exercise echocardiography
  • Exercise stress testing
    • Dobutamine stress echocardiogram (for patients unable to exercise on a treadmill)
    • Pharmacological stress testing with nuclear imaging
    • Pharmacological stress testing with MRI imaging
  • 24-hour Holter (EKG) monitoring including event monitoring
    • Tilt table testing
    • TEE – Transesophageal echocardiography (multi-plane)
    • Electrophysiology testing (arrhythmia)
  • Angiography
    • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization (coronary angiogram)
    • Carotid angiography
    • Peripheral angiography

Cardiac Treatment & Heart Surgery

Kalsekar Hospital is dedicated to patient safety and care. The first 90 minutes after a cardiac emergency are the most critical for long term effects on the heart. We were the first hospital to introduce 24 hour emergency cardiac intervention with set doctor guidelines.

With our “door to balloon” program, PCI be performed within 90 minutes.
